How RecRec is Lowering the Boundaries of Entrepreneurship

Yesterday I talked with a very cool Dartmouth Tuck alumni that orchestrated an impressive sale of a company called Rec Rec Labs.  Basically, he sold off the team to Facebook and the product to Google.  The acquisition is a great story on its own but I wanted to talk about the exciting value proposition of the company.

For many years, quite unsuccessfully, companies have tried to tackle the problem of converting images to code.  This seems like a trivial issue but it is one that has not been done in a good way.

This is precisely what Rec Rec Labs (click here) does, upload an image/design of a site and it will produce the code.

The reason why this is such a big deal is because it is just another way that entrepreneurship costs are being lowered.  You see, sites such as oDesk have already brought down the cost of entrepreneurship.  With the advent of Rec Rec Labs all entrepreneurs need to do is to hire a developer to start their company (significantly cheaper than a coder).

This is just another way that the costs of entrepreneurship are becoming incrementally lower every day.
